Simple guidance on nutrition, self-care, and daily wellness.
At LipoAlly, our mission is to support women living with lipedema through clear, educational resources. We provide knowledge, tools, and compassionate guidance to help improve daily wellness and quality of life.
Nutrition plays a key role in managing lipedema. While food cannot cure the condition, research shows that the right eating patterns may reduce swelling, improve comfort, and support overall wellness.
Whole foods – colorful vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains.
Healthy fats – fatty fish (salmon, mackerel), olive oil, avocado, nuts.
Lean proteins – chicken, turkey, tofu, lentils.
Stay hydrated – water, herbal teas.
Limit refined sugars, processed carbs, and salty foods.
Low-Carbohydrate / High-Fat (LCHF or Keto)
Studies suggest this may reduce pain, limb size, and inflammation in women with lipedema.
(Jeziorek M. et al., DMSO 2022)
Modified Mediterranean Diet
Rich in vegetables, fish, olive oil, and nuts. Sustainable and anti-inflammatory.
(Lipedema.net)
Dark leafy greens (spinach, kale, broccoli)
Berries and citrus fruits
Fatty fish and omega-3 sources
Nuts, seeds, olive oil
Anti-inflammatory spices (turmeric, ginger, garlic)
Refined sugars, sweets, sugary drinks
White bread, pastries, processed carbs
Processed meats and salty snacks
Trans fats and highly processed foods
Nutrition helps manage symptoms but is not a cure for lipedema.
Each body responds differently — experiment and track what works for you.
Always consult a doctor or nutritionist before making big dietary changes.
